Current Exhibition: Sculpture Expressions

February 11, 2019 - March 11, 2019

In this exhibition honoring Black History Month, banners on Hudson Blvd Park’s light poles display images of work by sculptor Milton Sherrill. Spread across Block 2 of the Park (between 34th and 35th Street) are images of bronze sculptures from his The Woman series, including Afrititi, Flemmie, Jewel of the Universe, and Windswept. A Larry Doby sculpture from 2003 is also featured.

Sherrill, who works in many mediums and styles, explores abstract interpretations of the human form and natural organic forms. He holds an M.F.A. from Pratt Institute, and his works have been exhibited in galleries from Madison Avenue to Beverly Hills.

Hudson Blvd Park’s first banner exhibition proudly celebrates Black History Month, and recognizes the influence and contributions of African American art.
